Independent Sales Development Contractor
Buckeye Cargo Carrier is looking for a motivated Independent Sales Development Contractor to help build local B2B customer accounts in Central Ohio.
This is not a generic sales job. This is a ground-floor opportunity with a newer local company building a real business customer base from the ground up. The right person will help develop the sales pipeline, contact assigned prospects, create quote opportunities, and earn performance-based bonuses and commissions as accounts are built.
Buckeye Cargo Carrier provides local and regional business transport support for shops, service departments, parts operations, dealerships, contractors, equipment businesses, and local companies that need help moving parts, returns, cores, tools, documents, light equipment, and service assets.
The value is simple: businesses lose productive time when employees have to leave the shop, counter, office, or job site to move something. Buckeye Cargo Carrier helps handle that movement gap so the customer’s people can stay working.
This is a 1099 independent contractor opportunity with commission and performance-bonus potential. It is ideal for someone who is confident speaking with business owners and managers, wants a chance to prove themselves, and likes the idea of helping grow a local company early.
Responsibilities
- Contact assigned local business prospects by phone, email, walk-in, or follow-up
- Identify the correct decision-maker, such as owner, shop manager, service manager, parts manager, or operations contact
- Ask questions to understand whether the business has recurring or occasional transport support needs
- Identify opportunities involving parts, returns, cores, tools, documents, light equipment, service assets, customer handoffs, or vendor pickups
- Request example runs so Buckeye Cargo Carrier can prepare accurate quotes
- Help create vendor setup opportunities and future account relationships
- Keep lead notes, follow-up dates, and prospect status updated
- Represent Buckeye Cargo Carrier professionally using approved sales materials
What Makes This Opportunity Different?
This is a chance to get in early with a local company building a repeatable B2B sales system.
You are not selling random consumer delivery jobs. You are helping local businesses solve a real operational problem: losing productive time when employees leave the business to handle movement that could be handled by an outside vendor.
Strong performers may be eligible for:
- Larger assigned prospect lists
- Qualified lead bonuses
- First paid customer bonuses
- Account activation bonuses
- Commission on approved collected service revenue
- Recurring-account commission opportunities
- Future sales/account management opportunities as the company grows
Compensation
This is a commission/bonus-based 1099 contractor opportunity. Earnings depend on activity level, qualified leads generated, approved customer opportunities, first paid customers, and collected revenue from approved Buckeye Cargo Carrier accounts.
Potential compensation may include:
- Qualified lead bonuses
- First paid customer bonuses
- Commission on approved collected service revenue
- Account activation bonuses
- Recurring account commission opportunities
- Uncapped commission potential based on performance
Estimated earnings may range from $750–$6,000+ per month depending on activity, results, and account development. This is not guaranteed hourly pay.
No commission is paid on unpaid invoices, declined work, refunded work, chargebacks, taxes, tolls, parking, rental pass-throughs, outside carrier costs, or unapproved jobs.
Important Role Limits
Final pricing, quote approval, dispatch approval, discounts, service commitments, customer terms, insurance/COI statements, and job acceptance remain with Buckeye Cargo Carrier.
The Independent Sales Development Contractor helps create opportunities, but does not approve final quotes or commit Buckeye Cargo Carrier to jobs without owner approval.

- Strong follow-up habits
