The Food Service Director is continuously responsible to oversee all aspects of the Dietary Department. To respond to all Mountain View Community and CCDOC dietary needs in accordance with the provisions of applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures. This position is responsible for the overall operation and supervision of the Dietary Department, coordinates all activities within the department, provides food service for patients and nursing home employees, maintains kitchen and all equipment. Also responsible for daily schedules and orienting all new employees to the department, nutritionally adequate seasonal menus for residents, inventory and annual budget management.
Duties require a high school diploma or equivalent with 5 years management experience in the Food Service industry. Must possess a Certified Dietary Manager certificate or the ability to complete this training within a year of hire, and/or any combination of education and experience, which demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skills and abilities. This position must be “Serve Safe Certified”.
Must be able to work in kitchen environment, lift up to 50 pounds, endure periods or heavy workload or stress. Position requires standing and walking for extended periods of time. This position will plan and prepare food and special items for residents following preparation and nourishment lists and ensure kitchen and products are maintained in a safe and appropriate manner. This position will oversee staff on duty and is expected to display a positive attitude with focus on good team work.
