American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring circulator experience and 2+ years of L&D and postpartum care.
-
Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of a hospital's Birth Center
-
Low risk patient population with facility births under 100 per month
-
Care spans Antepartum, L&D, LDRP, Level I Nursery, and Mother/Baby settings
-
Uses External and Internal Fetal Monitoring (EFM) equipment, including IUPC placement and calibration
-
Epic EMR experience preferred
-
Night shift schedule (3x12 or 4x12 hours, 19:00-7:00)
-
Rotating weekends and holidays required
-
Floating within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals required
-
Contract lengths of 8-26 weeks available
-
Active RN license (Ohio or Compact) required
-
Current certifications: BLS, NRP, and EFM required; ACLS, STABLE, AWHONN Beginner, and AWHONN Intermediate preferred

Minimum 2 years of experience in Labor & Delivery and Postpartum care for mom and baby required
-
Circulator experience required
-
Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and administration of blood and blood products
-
Experience assisting with high-risk and vaginal deliveries, including forceps/vacuum extraction
-
Experience circulating and recovering C-sections
-
Competency in fetal heart rate pattern recognition and treatment of abnormalities
-
Experience with postpartum complications including hemorrhage and pregnancy-induced hypertension
-
Newborn assessment and discharge teaching skills required
-
Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum phases
-
Perform neonatal care in the delivery room including APGAR scoring and neonatal resuscitation
-
Administer medications such as antihypertensives and Pitocin (oxytocin)
-
Manage pain relief methods including epidural and general anesthesia support
-
Provide newborn care including hypoglycemia monitoring and circumcision care teaching
-
Manage complex cases including multiple gestation, preterm labor, and VBAC/trial of labor
-
Utilize Rapid Response and Code teams for cardiac monitoring and emergency care
