American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 1+ year of experience and Trauma Level I experience preferred for a day shift position in adult critical care and emergency department settings.

Work in adult critical care and emergency department settings

Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
-
13-week assignment length

Uses Epic charting system
-
Travel pairs accepted, though same shift is not guaranteed

Current RRT certification required; CRT not accepted

BLS certification required
-
Minimum 1 year of experience required

Trauma Level I experience preferred

Epic charting experience required; recent experience within the last 12 months strongly preferred

Clinicians without recent Epic experience will complete on-site training and pass a test-out prior to scheduling

Non-AHA certifications accepted, including Instructor, Provider, and RQI
-
License required if applicable; pending license acceptable at submission but must be in-hand prior to start

Skilled in airway management including intubation assist, extubation, and tracheostomy care
-
Experience with oxygen therapy delivery methods including HFNC, bag and mask, and trach collar
-
Experience with ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
-
Skilled in troubleshooting high pressure ventilator alarms
-
Perform airway management procedures including nasal and oral airway placement and suctioning
-
Collect sputum specimens and provide tracheostomy care and management
-
Administer nebulizer treatments via hand held, T-piece, and trach collar methods
-
Manage oxygen therapy and mechanical ventilation for critically ill adult patients
-
RTO typically limited to no more than 2 weeks during the assignment, with expectation to make up time
