Join our dynamic manufacturing team as a NEW! CNC Lathe Operator on the second shift, working either from 3pm to 11pm or 4pm to 12am. Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC lathe machines, including programming and troubleshooting Fanuc control systems
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), and CAD/CAM files to ensure accurate machining processes
- Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines to verify part dimensions
- Perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment and tooling to maintain optimal performance
- Select appropriate tooling and fixtures for machining operations while adhering to safety standards
- Conduct quality checks using precision instruments like dial indicators and bore gauges to ensure parts meet specifications
- Maintain detailed documentation of production runs, machine settings, and inspection results for quality assurance
Experience
- Proven experience operating CNC lathes or milling machines in a manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of CNC programming languages such as G-code or Fanuc controls
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, GD&T standards, and mechanical drawings
- Knowledge of electrical discharge machining (EDM) processes is a plus
- Hands-on experience with CAD software like SolidWorks or general CAD/CAM programming is desirable
- Mechanical aptitude with basic math skills for precise measurements and calculations
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly techniques as needed
- Prior exposure to lean manufacturing principles and plastics injection molding processes is advantageous
