Responsibilities
- Lead the daily operations of the daycare center, ensuring compliance with licensing standards and safety protocols.
- Supervise and support teaching staff, providing guidance on classroom management, behavior management, and curriculum implementation.
- Develop and implement age-appropriate programs that promote early childhood education, preschool activities, toddler care, infant care, and special education needs.
- Foster positive relationships with children and families by maintaining open communication and addressing individual needs.
- Oversee staff recruitment, training—including first aid certification—and ongoing professional development in childhood development and working with children with disabilities.
- Ensure a clean, safe, engaging environment that encourages learning through play and exploration.
- Manage administrative tasks such as enrollment procedures, record keeping, compliance documentation, and scheduling.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of early childhood education principles, classroom experience, and childcare best practices.
- Proven leadership skills with experience in classroom management and supervising childcare staff.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with families, staff, and community partners.
- Ability to handle behavior management challenges with patience and professionalism.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special education needs is highly desirable.
- Certifications in first aid and CPR are required; additional qualifications in childhood development or nannying are a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to nurture young children through caregiving activities such as babysitting or nannying across various age groups including infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.
