Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Forklift Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team. Duties
- Safely operate a variety of forklifts including reach trucks, lift trucks, Hi-Lo, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and manual handling equipment to load, unload, and transport materials.
- Perform order picking using barcode scanning systems and order picker machinery to fulfill shipping requirements accurately.
- Manage inventory by conducting regular stock counts, updating warehouse management systems (WMS), and ensuring proper storage of goods.
- Assist with shipping and receiving processes by verifying inbound and outbound shipments, inspecting freight for damage, and documenting transactions.
- Maintain strict adherence to forklift safety protocols and OSHA standards to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
- Conduct minor equipment repairs or report maintenance needs promptly to ensure optimal operation of all machinery.
- Support warehouse distribution activities by organizing materials efficiently, stacking pallets safely, and preparing shipments for dispatch.
Skills
- Proven experience operating forklifts such as reach trucks, Hi-Lo forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), barcode scanning technology, and inventory control procedures.
- Familiarity with shipping & receiving protocols, heavy lifting techniques, manual handling safety standards, and OSHA regulations.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic equipment repairs or troubleshooting when necessary.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for order picking, stock counting, and documentation accuracy.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations related to weights, measurements, and inventory counts.
- Effective communication skills to coordinate with team members and warehouse supervisors in a fast-paced environment.
