Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Bus Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about providing safe and reliable transportation services, particularly for seniors and individuals requiring paratransit services. This role involves driving a bus, ensuring the safety of passengers, and maintaining a high standard of service. The Bus Driver will play a crucial role in enhancing the mobility and independence of our clients.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a bus to transport passengers to their designated locations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety.
- Assist passengers, including seniors and individuals with disabilities, in boarding and alighting the bus.
- Maintain a clean and orderly bus environment.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving.
- Communicate effectively with passengers, providing information about routes and schedules.
- Document any incidents or issues that occur during transit.
- Write reports as necessary regarding daily operations or passenger concerns.
- Collaborate with dispatchers to ensure timely service delivery.
Experience
- Proven experience in bus driving or commercial driving is preferred.
- Familiarity with senior care or paratransit services is advantageous.
- Mechanical knowledge to perform basic vehicle maintenance checks is beneficial.
- Bilingual skills are a plus, enhancing communication with diverse passenger groups.
- Experience working with children is desirable for roles involving school transportation.
- Strong command of English for effective communication and documentation.
