Kusel Equipment Co. is a stainless-steel manufacturer located in Watertown, WI. We are seeking skilled applicants for a mechanical designer position.
As Kusel meets our customer’s needs, this role is responsible for creating drawings and models that exhibit the detail and method of assembly for a variety of fabrications, machinery, and mechanical devices. This includes specifications and bill of materials for associated designs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform engineering design functions in Solidworks
- Design fabrications, sheet metal, machining, mechanical, weldments and electrical integration
- Provide details on component descriptions
- Work with manufacturing personnel to troubleshoot and resolve design problems
- Review and analyze specifications
- Compute mathematical formulas to develop and design detailed specifications for components or machinery
- Specify dimensions, materials, and procedures
- Specify and select purchased components for new/improved designs
- Consult technical resources while in the design phase
- Create installation, operation, and maintenance manuals for equipment
- Address customer (internal and external) technical questions as directed
- Other related duties and projects as assigned
EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Proficient in SolidWorks modeling software (especially sheet metal)
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD
- Two year’s relevant experience required
- Proficient documentation, written, and oral communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Detail oriented with excellent organizational, problem solving, and analysis skills
- Knowledge, practical experience, and high degree of proficiency regarding computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel programs
- Ability to work independently and make decisions in accordance with established policies and regulations
- Attention to detail & thoroughness
- Reliable work ethic and good attendance record
- Polite, courteous, and tactful with others
ANTICIPATED HOURS
- Typically 40 hours per week
- Work regular mutually agreed upon hours on weekly basis
- All schedule changes, vacation, or additional hours must be approved in advance by your supervisor
- All regular work to be performed on site at Kusel Equipment in Watertown, WI

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $72,000.00 - $82,000.00 per year
