Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with seating arrangements or host/hostess duties as needed
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring timely processing of sales transactions
- Serve food and beverages with professionalism, including cocktail and spirits service, while maintaining proper drink presentation and guest engagement
- Upsell menu items and specials to enhance guest experience and increase sales opportunities
- Process cash and card payments accurately, handling cash handling responsibilities with integrity and efficiency
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards by bussing tables, resetting dining areas, and adhering to food safety protocols
- Support kitchen staff with basic food handling or prep tasks when necessary to ensure smooth operations
Skills
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments, including fine dining or casual settings
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or similar platforms for sales processing
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage guests positively and handle inquiries professionally
- Knowledge of wine, spirits, cocktail preparation, and beverage service techniques
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy service hours
- Basic math skills for processing sales transactions accurately and handling cash safely
- Understanding of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures
- Previous experience in hosting/hostessing or bussing is preferred but not required; a hospitality mindset is essential for success
