Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Property Manager to join our dynamic property management team. In this vital role, you will support the overall operation of residential communities by assisting with leasing, tenant relations, property maintenance coordination, and administrative tasks. Responsibilities
- Assist in managing lease or rental agreements, ensuring all documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with Fair Housing regulations and landlord-tenant law.
- Support the leasing process by conducting property tours, upselling available units, and processing applications using property management software such as Yardi or OneSite.
- Respond promptly to resident inquiries via phone, email, or in person, providing exceptional customer service and resolving issues efficiently.
- Coordinate property maintenance requests and work closely with facilities management teams to ensure timely repairs and upkeep of the community.
- Maintain organized records through data entry, filing, and updating resident files in accordance with legal and company standards.
- Assist with rent collection, Section 8 program administration, LIHTC compliance, and other subsidized housing initiatives.
- Support conflict management efforts by mediating tenant disputes professionally while adhering to Fair Housing regulations.
- Contribute to marketing efforts by participating in community outreach, showing units, and supporting leasing events to boost occupancy rates.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in property management or real estate administrative roles; familiarity with property management companies is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of any property management software tools.
- Understanding of landlord-tenant law, Fair Housing regulations
- Excellent customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and negotiation abilities.
- Ability to handle conflict situations effectively while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Experience with lease or rental agreement management, contracts, and legal administrative procedures.
- Office experience including data entry, filing systems, and administrative support functions.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Facilities management knowledge is a plus; familiarity with property maintenance processes is highly desirable.
