Duties
- Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional service while assisting with fuel pumps, store inquiries, and product recommendations
- Operate the cash register accurately, handling retail sales transactions, cash handling, and balancing the cash drawer at shift end
- Upsell products such as snacks, beverages, car accessories, and convenience items to maximize sales opportunities
- Stock shelves, organize merchandise displays, and ensure the store remains clean, organized, and inviting for shoppers
- Conduct product demos or promote new items to enhance customer engagement and sales performance
- Maintain knowledge of store products and grocery items to answer customer questions confidently and assist with product selection
- Follow proper phone etiquette when taking orders or answering customer inquiries over the phone
Skills
- Proficiency in POS (Point of Sale) systems and cash register operations for seamless transactions
- Previous retail sales experience with strong merchandising skills and product knowledge
- Supervising experience is a plus for team collaboration and leadership opportunities
- Bilingual abilities to serve a diverse customer base effectively
- Excellent communication skills combined with friendly phone etiquette
- Ability to perform basic math accurately for cash handling and retail math calculations
- Experience in grocery store operations or retail environments is highly desirable
- Strong customer service orientation with the ability to upsell products confidently
- Knowledge of retail store product placement, stocking procedures, and merchandising techniques
