Duties
- Greet patients warmly and assist them with check-in and check-out procedures using dental office management software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft
- Schedule appointments efficiently, coordinate follow-up visits, and manage appointment calendars to optimize clinic flow
- Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks
- Maintain accurate patient records by reviewing documentation for completeness and compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Handle multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, answer inquiries, and direct calls appropriately
- Collect payments, process medical collections, and perform billing tasks using EMR (Electronic Medical Records)
- Manage filing of medical records, review care plans, and update patient information in accordance with health information management standards
Skills
- Extensive experience with dental office software including Dentrix
- Strong knowledge of medical billing procedures
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and secure handling of health information
- Excellent customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and effective communication abilities
- Bilingual capabilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively
- Proven office experience in a healthcare environment with clerical support duties including filing, typing, and document management
- Ability to navigate multiple computer systems confidently while maintaining high accuracy in data entry and documentation review
