ETERNAL SMILES FOUNDATION
Community Engagement Manager
Eternal Smiles Foundation | Dallas–Fort Worth, TX | Hybrid | Full-Time, Exempt | $58,000–$65,000
Eternal Smiles Foundation provides orthodontic grants to children from single-parent households across the DFW area. We're looking for a Community Engagement Manager who can do three things well at once: build genuine relationships with schools, providers, and community organizations; guide families through our application process with patience and care; and help us reach the families who need us most — even when there's no existing playbook for how to find them.
This role is a strong fit if you:
- Have personally built a relationship or partnership from nothing — no warm intro, no existing process — and can describe exactly how you did it and what it led to
- Are comfortable being told \"figure it out\" and actually enjoy that kind of ambiguity, rather than needing a defined process before you can act
- Have direct experience working with families facing real hardship — not just adjacent community involvement, but sitting with someone through a hard moment
- Move at your own pace without close daily oversight, but communicate proactively so nothing falls through the cracks
What you'll do:
- Build and maintain relationships with schools, nonprofits, churches, and community organizations serving single-parent families
- Source, onboard, and maintain relationships with orthodontic and dental provider partners
- Guide families through the application process — from first contact to enrollment
- Support small fundraising campaigns, donor stewardship, and community events
- Represent Eternal Smiles Foundation at community events, building our presence and reputation
- Track outreach activity, partnerships, and application data to keep improving our reach
What tends to predict success in this role:
- A track record of initiating outreach where none existed before — a new partnership, a new channel, a new program — not just executing on someone else's plan
- Real, specific stories of building trust with a partner or family over time (we'll ask for one in the application — the more concrete, the better)
- Nonprofit, education, healthcare, or ministry experience is a plus, but what matters most is evidence you can do this exact kind of relationship-building work, wherever you've done it before
Not the right fit if: you're looking for a role with a clearly defined daily process to follow, or if your outreach experience has mainly been executing within an established system rather than building new relationships from scratch.
Approved local travel required; mileage reimbursed. Occasional evenings/weekends for events.
