Overview
The Aerospace Masker plays a vital role in ensuring the quality and precision of aerospace components by applying protective masking during various finishing processes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work within a fast-paced manufacturing setting, utilizing specialized techniques to prepare surfaces for coating, painting, and finishing. The ideal candidate will be energetic, detail-oriented, and dedicated to adhering to safety standards while supporting production goals.
Responsibilities
- Apply masking materials accurately on aerospace components using hand tools and other application equipment to ensure precise coverage.
- Interpret production documents such as work orders, blueprints, and process instructions to execute masking tasks correctly.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary.
- Handle materials carefully with proper materials handling techniques to prevent damage or contamination during masking processes.
- Assist in surface preparation activities like construction painting surface preparation and machining as needed for optimal coating adherence.
- Conduct visual color comparisons and inspect masked surfaces for quality standards in production finishing.
Skills
- Strong understanding of quality standards in production and the ability to interpret technical documents accurately.
- Mechanical knowledge related to assembly, machining, and industrial painting processes.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations necessary during masking procedures.
