Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable, compassionate, and motivated Direct Support Professional (DSP) and Job Coach to provide evening and weekend support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
This position will primarily provide job coaching assistance and individualized Community Access Individual (CAI) 1:1 services as needed. The ideal candidate will enjoy helping individuals develop greater independence, succeed in employment, participate in their communities, and work toward their personal goals.
Evening and weekend availability is required.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide job coaching and supported employment assistance to individuals at their places of employment.
- Assist individuals with learning and completing job duties accurately and safely.
- Help individuals develop appropriate workplace behaviors, communication skills, time management, and independence.
- Communicate professionally with employers, supervisors, and members of the individual’s support team as appropriate.
- Encourage individuals to complete job responsibilities as independently as possible.
- Provide CAI 1:1 services based on the individual’s goals and Individual Service Plan (ISP).
- Support individuals with community participation, socialization, independent living skills, shopping, money management, recreation, and other individualized goals.
- Provide transportation and community-based assistance when required for assigned services.
- Maintain the health, safety, dignity, and rights of individuals receiving services.
- Complete accurate and timely service notes and required documentation.
- Report incidents, concerns, behavioral changes, or other significant information according to agency procedures.
- Follow agency policies, confidentiality requirements, behavior support plans, and individual service plans.
Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Candidate must successfully pass all required criminal background checks prior to employment.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
- Experience working with adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities is preferred.
- Job coaching or supported employment experience is a plus.
- Must be patient, dependable, professional, and comfortable working independently in community settings.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain required certification.
Schedule
This is a part-time evening and weekend position. Hours may vary depending on the needs and schedules of the individuals receiving services.
Availability should include:
- Weekday evenings
- Saturdays
- Sundays
- Additional hours as needed
