Cedar Valley Cheese Inc. is currently looking for a cheesemaker to join our growing company. The position is full time and a second shift position as well. Once trained and a fulltime employee the shift will be 6:00pm - 3:30am Outlined below are some of the functions of the position.

- Performing tests according to standardized written procedures, including recording results
- Maintaining documentation as appropriate.
- Regular and punctual attendance and physical presence in the workplace.
- Inspect and prepare milk for cheese production
- Add starter cultures and enzymes to the milk and control the coagulation process
- Monitor the fermentation process
- Ensure that each vat of cheese is made with the correct recipe.
- Perform regular quality control checks to ensure cheese is developing as expected
- Record production data as required
- Assist other production employees with the finishing of cheese
- Maintain settings on pasteurizer and separator and maintain charts.
- Add ingredients to the vats.
- Maintain efficiency and meet production schedules by effective supervision and utilization of resources.
- Monitor policies, procedures, protocols, good manufacturing practices, and safety rules and regulations are followed by all employees.
- Qualifications
- Knowledge of FDA regulations
- Knowledge of HACCP and GMP standards
- You will need to aquire the Wisconsin pasturizer licence
- You will need to aquire and maintain the Wisconsin Cheesemakers Licence
- Key Activities:

Necessary Experience:
- High School or equivalent.
- Active & valid WI cheesemaker license
- Operational knowledge of cheesemaking.
- Cheese Manufacturing Experience.
Skills Required:
- Good written and verbal communication skills to lead a team.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
- Ability to follow cheese recipes.
- Ability to read charts, settings, gauges, and thermometers.
- Problem solving and decision-making skills.
- CIP and cleaning methods for facility.
