Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Pump & Control Service Technician to join our team and drive excellence in municipal and industrial pump and control system maintenance. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of pump systems and control equipment across various municipal water/wastewater and industrial environments. Your expertise will ensure optimal system performance, safety, and reliability, contributing directly to operational efficiency. Duties
- Install, calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair pumps, sensors, valves, and control systems including programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and distributed control systems (DCS).
- Interpret schematics, technical drawings, AutoCAD layouts, and wiring diagrams to accurately diagnose issues and implement solutions.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on pumping systems, electrical components (low voltage and high voltage), sensors, vision inspection systems, and calibration devices using precision measuring instruments such as ohmmeters.
- Perform field service tasks including system start-up, commissioning, troubleshooting high voltage equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Utilize calibration tools and techniques to ensure sensors and measurement instruments operate within specified tolerances.
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating technical information clearly to clients and documenting all service activities thoroughly.
- Assist in the interpretation of schematics for E&I (Electrical & Instrumentation) systems to facilitate efficient repairs or modifications.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, system configurations, and repairs to ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
Experience
- Proven experience working with electric motors, pumping equipment, mechanical systems, electrical circuits (including low voltage and high voltage), sensors, and calibration procedures.
- Strong background in industrial maintenance within manufacturing or similar environments; experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of confined space entry procedures would be applicable.
- Familiarity with schematics drawing interpretation using AutoCAD or similar design tools.
- Knowledge of high-voltage electrical safety protocols along with hands-on experience in field service operations.
- Ability to read technical schematics accurately using precision measuring instruments such as ohmmeters and multimeters.
- Demonstrated customer service skills with the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly to clients or team members.
