Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious Stand Up Forklift Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team. In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently operating stand-up forklifts and other heavy equipment to load, unload, and transport materials within a fast-paced distribution environment. Your expertise will ensure smooth warehouse operations, accurate order fulfillment, and adherence to safety standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, warehouse management experience, and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
Duties
- Operate stand-up forklifts, reach trucks, Hi-Lo forklifts, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks to move materials safely and efficiently throughout the warehouse.
- Load and unload shipments with precision, ensuring proper handling of heavy and fragile items.
- Assist with order picking using various equipment such as <PERSON> pickers and order picker machines to fulfill customer orders accurately.
- Conduct routine inspections and minor repairs on equipment to maintain optimal operation and safety compliance.
- Support warehouse management in inventory control, stock organization, and materials handling processes.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to coordinate shipping and receiving activities while adhering to OSHA safety standards.
- Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) for tracking inventory movements, updating stock levels, and documenting equipment usage.
- Perform heavy lifting tasks safely while following proper ergonomic practices.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating stand-up forklifts, reach trucks, Hi-Lo forklifts, clamp trucks, or similar heavy equipment within a warehouse setting.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic equipment repairs and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control procedures.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations related to forklift operation and materials handling.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for inventory counts and measurements.
- Experience in shipping & receiving processes, order picking, and warehouse distribution.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Valid forklift operator certification or equivalent training preferred.
- Physical capability for heavy lifting, standing for extended periods, and operating machinery safely.
