Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optometric Technician to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our optometrists in delivering high-quality eye care services. As an Optometric Technician, you will assist with various clinical tasks, ensuring a smooth and efficient operation within the practice.
Duties
- Perform preliminary eye exams and assist with diagnostic testing, including visual acuity tests, and retinal imaging.
- Maintain patient records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
- Educate patients on proper eye care practices and the use of prescribed eyewear or contact lenses.
- Assist in the fitting and dispensing of eyeglasses and contact lenses.
- Collaborate with optometrists to ensure seamless patient flow and address any concerns during examinations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the examination rooms and equipment to uphold a professional environment.
Skills
- Strong understanding of medical terminology related to optometry and eye care practices.
- Proficiency in patient care techniques, demonstrating empathy and professionalism in all interactions.
- Excellent communication skills to convey information clearly to patients and team members.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated in individual tasks.
