Position Summary:
The Hospice Clinical Director (RN) is responsible for the overall management and oversight of all hospice clinical operations. Working closely with the Administrator and Medical Director, this leader ensures high-quality patient care, regulatory compliance, staff development, and continuous quality improvement while fostering a collaborative and supportive interdisciplinary team environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership, supervision, coaching, and support to all hospice clinical staff.
- Direct daily clinical operations and ensure efficient patient care delivery.
- Coordinate interdisciplinary patient care services to ensure quality outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with Medicare Conditions of Participation, state regulations, accreditation standards, and agency policies.
- Oversee Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) and Infection Prevention programs.
- Review clinical documentation to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and regulatory compliance.
- Participate in clinical case reviews and quality improvement initiatives.
- Investigate and resolve patient, family, and staff concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Conduct clinical orientation, staff education, competency validation, and ongoing professional development.
- Promote a positive culture focused on teamwork, accountability, compassion, and excellent patient outcomes.
- Support agency growth through collaboration with referral partners and community healthcare providers.
Required Qualifications:
- Current, unrestricted Georgia Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Minimum five (5) years of nursing experience
- Knowledge of Medicare Hospice Conditions of Participation and hospice regulations
- Experience leading Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic medical records
Preferred Qualification:
- Experience with hospice EMR systems such as WellSky/Consolo or similar platforms
- Minimum two (2) years of hospice leadership or supervisory experience
- Experience with accreditation surveys and regulatory readiness
