Ultrasound Technologist
Location: IHS Facility - Pinon, AZ 86510
Pay Rate: $55 per hour + $1,246 Travel Stipends (if applicable)
Schedule: 8:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (40) hours per week.
Contract Length: 1 year with option to extend
Benefits:
Health and Welfare: $5.09/hr (Up to 40 hours worked per week)
PTO: 5 days after 6 months, an additional 5 days at 1 year of service
Accrued sick days: 1 hour for every 36 hours worked
11 Paid Holidays: Following the Government calendar throughout the year
We are seeking an experienced Ultrasound Technician to provide diagnostic imaging services at an Indian Health Service (IHS) facility in Pinon, AZ. This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse patient population while performing a wide range of ultrasound procedures in a collaborative outpatient healthcare setting.
Requirements:
ARDMS or ARRT certification in Diagnostic Medical Sonography
Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program
Minimum of 12 months of recent ultrasound experience
Current CPR and BLS certification
Ability to perform general, vascular, obstetric, and procedural ultrasound studies
Ability to meet IHS credentialing and background requirements
Three professional references, including one current or former supervisor/Medical Director
Perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations for patients of all ages, including obstetric, abdominal, vascular, and soft tissue studies
Operate ultrasound equipment to obtain accurate diagnostic images for physician interpretation
Review imaging results and promptly communicate significant findings requiring immediate clinical attention
Prepare and position patients, explain procedures, and ensure patient comfort throughout examinations
Maintain accurate documentation and update patient records within the electronic health record system
Practice proper infection control, sterile techniques, and equipment disinfection procedures, including Trophon usage and maintenance
Collaborate with providers to support diagnosis, treatment planning, and continuity of care
Perform routine equipment checks, quality assurance activities, and basic maintenance to ensure optimal performance
Manage ultrasound supplies and assist with inventory control to support uninterrupted patient care
Deliver compassionate, professional, and culturally sensitive care while maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and diagnostic accuracy.
