Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced gymnastics coach with advanced technical knowledge and high-level training experience to coach athletes ranging from recreational through optional and elite-level gymnastics. The ideal candidate is positive, dependable, safety-focused, and committed to athlete development both physically and mentally.
Responsibilities
- Coach athletes in accordance with safe gymnastics progressions.
- Plan and lead engaging, age-appropriate practices.
- Develop athletes' strength, flexibility, technique, and confidence.
- Spot skills safely and effectively.
- Prepare competitive athletes for USAG competitions.
- Communicate professionally with athletes, parents, and staff.
- Maintain accurate attendance and skill progression records.
- Promote a positive, respectful, and encouraging team culture.
- Assist with camps, clinics, special events, and team activities as needed.
- Ensure all equipment is used safely and remains organized.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous coaching experience with competitive gymnastics, including optional and/or elite-level athletes.
- Strong technical knowledge of women's artistic gymnastics.
- Experience developing compulsory, optional, and high-level skills.
- Ability to safely spot advanced skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Dependable, organized, and professional.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- Ability to pass all required background checks.
- Ability to obtain or maintain all required certifications, including:
- SafeSport Training
- USA Gymnastics Professional Membership (or willingness to obtain)
- CPR/AED and First Aid Certification
- Ability to lift, spot, and assist athletes throughout a coaching shift.
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and move continuously during practices.
Preferred Experience
- Experience coaching Level 3–10 athletes.
- Experience working with elite or high-performance athletes.
- Previous competitive gymnastics experience.
- Choreography or dance experience is a plus.
- Experience mentoring or training other coaches is a plus.
Pay: From $17.00 per hour
