As a Maintenance Technician, you'll play a vital role in creating a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained community for our residents. If you're dependable, customer-focused, and enjoy a variety of maintenance responsibilities, we'd love to hear from you.

Manage the repair and replacement of HVAC systems, plumbing systems, electrical systems, appliances, and other building systems

Complete resident service requests promptly and professionally

Manage work orders and apartment turnovers, including preparing vacant homes for new residents

Coordinate contractors for estimates and approved contracted work

Perform routine and scheduled maintenance tasks, including grounds care, common area maintenance, trash and recycling management, inspections, and preventative maintenance

Assist in maintaining the community's luxury appearance and curb appeal

Support operating budgets related to turnovers, repairs and maintenance, and capital improvement projects

Report accidents, emergencies, safety concerns, and property issues to management immediately

Support additional properties within the assigned area as needed

Participate in the on-call rotation schedule and respond to emergency maintenance requests

Demonstrate and uphold the Oakbrook Values in every interaction

Perform all other duties as assigned

Experience in residential property maintenance or a related field preferred

Comprehensive knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, construction, carpentry, painting, and general maintenance practices

Ability to diagnose issues and implement effective solutions

Strong organizational and time management skills

Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate professionally and respectfully with residents, coworkers, vendors, and management

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Commitment to providing outstanding customer service

EPA Certification preferred

Experience in multifamily housing maintenance is a plus

High school diploma or GED

Valid driver's license

Ability to participate in an on-call rotation

Must provide personal hand tools needed for the position

Trade school or vocational certifications preferred
