Sleep Medicine Clinical Assistant — Sleep Wellness Matters | Waxhaw, NC | Full-Time
We're a growing dental sleep medicine practice in Waxhaw, NC with a simple mission: help people breathe better, sleep better, and live better. We treat obstructive sleep apnea using custom oral appliances — a field that sits at the intersection of dentistry, sleep medicine, and real, life-changing patient care.
We're looking for someone who wakes up ready to show up — warm, sharp, and genuinely excited to learn. No prior dental or sleep medicine experience required. We will train the right person from the ground up.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Experience is secondary to character. Here's what matters most to us:
- A warm, genuine personality. You make patients feel at ease the moment they walk in. You remember names. You listen.
- Hunger to learn. You ask questions, take notes, and come back the next day knowing more than you did before. This is a specialty field — curiosity is a superpower.
- Ambition to grow with us. We want someone who sees this as a career, not a job — and who gets excited by the idea of becoming the expert in the room over time.
- Reliability and attention to detail. Patient care runs on trust and precision. You're someone people can count on.
- A team-first attitude. We're a small, close-knit team. Everyone pitches in. Ego doesn't have a place here — kindness does.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Your days will be varied and meaningful — a real mix of hands-on clinical care and patient coordination. You'll grow into all of it with full training from our team.
- Clinical patient care — Hands-on chairside assistance during patient appointments: preparing patients, supporting the provider, and ensuring every visit runs smoothly
- Patient history & intake — Reviewing and documenting patient sleep histories, medical backgrounds, and intake forms to prepare the provider for each visit
- Dental X-rays & digital scanning — Taking dental X-rays and performing digital intraoral scans used in the fabrication of custom oral appliances (training provided)
- Scheduling & follow-up coordination — Scheduling appointments, coordinating follow-up care, and keeping patients on track through their treatment journey
- Physician communication — Corresponding with referring physicians and sleep specialists to coordinate care, share records, and close the loop on patient outcomes
WHAT WE OFFER
- Full training provided — no prior dental or sleep experience required
- A real growth path in a fast-growing specialty field
- A small team that genuinely cares about each other and their patients
- Competitive compensation commensurate with experience
- Beautiful, brand-new clinic space in Waxhaw, NC
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or GED (associate's degree or higher a plus)
- Any experience in a healthcare, dental, or customer-facing setting is a bonus — not a requirement
- Comfortable with computers and basic software
- Professionalism, discretion, and a commitment to patient privacy (HIPAA)
