SUMMARY: We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our healthcare team. The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for assessing, treating, and caring for patients with breathing and cardiopulmonary disorders across a variety of clinical settings. This role involves administering respiratory therapies, monitoring patient progress, operating specialized equipment, and collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform respiratory assessments and develop appropriate treatment plans.
- Administer oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, breathing treatments, and airway management interventions.
- Operate and monitor ventilators, CPAP/BiPAP devices, and other respiratory care equipment.
- Evaluate patient responses to treatment and adjust care as needed.
- Obtain and analyze arterial blood gases (ABGs) and pulmonary function tests.
- Respond to emergency situations, including rapid response and code blue events.
- Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions, treatments, and home-care equipment.
- Maintain accurate documentation in electronic medical records (EMR).
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory, safety, and infection control standards.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
- Current state Respiratory Therapist license required.
- CRT or RRT credential preferred or required based on state regulations.
- Current BLS certification required; ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications preferred.
- Strong critical-thinking, communication, and patient-care skills.
- Hospital, acute care, ICU, or pulmonary care experience preferred.
