Purpose of the Role
BCA, part of the Mpac Group located in beautiful Newburyport Massachusetts. Boston Conveyor and Automation (BCA) has brought together a very experienced and successful team to focus on the automation process in the food manufacturing, life science and general manufacturing industries.
Due to rapid growth, BCA is seeking a motivated Saw Operator to join our team. To qualify for this position an individual must be capable of meeting the requirements below and have a minimum of 1 years of applicable experience. This position reports to the Manufacturing Engineer & Scheduling Manager.
Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities
Saw Operator
· Cut raw materials per drawing
· Maintain saw fluid levels and cleanliness, as well as surrounding area
Material Handling
· Organization of raw materials and components based on guidance from supervisor so that they are kitted for specific projects
· Responsible for shop trash removal, breaking down of packing materials / boxes and alerting manager when scrap bins are full
· Count and inventory stock
· Additional duties as required
Shipping and Receiving Support
· Safely handle and move material using pallet jacks and forklifts
· Palletize machines and load/unload freight trucks
· Packaging of shipments in a safe manner to prevent damage during transportation to our customers
· Support maintaining Inventory accuracy
Technical Skills & Qualifications
· High school graduate or GED.
· Able to spend long periods of time standing. Required to lift to 50 lbs.
· Able to work 40 hours weekly 7:00am – 3:30pm Mon- Fri (overtime available)
· Maintain a clean and organized workspace that complies with safety standards
· Ability to multitask & manage multiple tasks
· Willing to support other departments as needed
Knowledge and Experience
Essential
· Carpentry Skills
· Good communication skills
- Strong understanding of safety standards
Desirable
· Ability to operate Forklift – Company provided training & certification available
