Position Summary
We are seeking a hands-on Controller / Accounting Manager to lead our accounting and financial operations. This role offers flexibility to work from our Tigard or Harrisburg office, or remotely, depending on candidate preference.
Candidates must be located within reasonable driving distance and able to visit the Harrisburg location periodically (approximately every couple of months or as needed).
The Controller will supervise a small accounting team (2–3 employees) while remaining actively involved in day-to-day operations. This is an ideal opportunity for a self-starter who thrives in a results-oriented, small business environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support a small accounting team (2–3 staff)
- Manage Accounts Receivable (A/R) and Accounts Payable (A/P)
- Prepare monthly and annual financial statements (GAAP)
- Oversee intercompany transactions and reconciliations
- Administer payroll processing and compliance
- Manage tax filings and payments
- Provide HR oversight and administrative support
- Administer 401(k) and assist with required reporting
- Oversee employee benefits administration
Additional Responsibilities / Projects
- Implement ACH payment systems
- Lead accounting support for ERP system transition
- Oversee inventory costing (manufacturing environment)
- Develop and enhance operational and financial reporting
Qualifications (Required)
- 5+ years of accounting or finance experience
- Experience supervising or mentoring staff
- Proven ability to prepare financial statements
- Strong knowledge of payroll, taxes, and compliance
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities independently
- Experience with ERP/accounting systems and Excel
- Must be able to travel occasionally to Harrisburg, OR
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in manufacturing accounting
- Background as a Controller, Accounting Manager, or Senior Accountant
- Experience with ERP implementations
- Knowledge of inventory costing
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $95,000 – $115,000 DOE
