Homestead Meats & Processing is a state inspected slaughter and meat processing company. Our core business is providing high quality custom meat processing and merchandising solutions for our customers. We humanely harvest, skillfully cut, and carefully package into retail ready products.
OVERVIEW & PURPOSE
The Harvest Floor Team Member’s primary role is to receive live animals in accordance with animal welfare standards, ensure the humane harvest of all animals, and provide excellent customer service to ranchers/haulers. We are looking for an independent thinker who has a proven track record of improving processes, ensuring food safety and quality, and ensuring an incredible finished product.
The perfect candidate will develop and maintain good working relationships with staff, suppliers, and customers. S/he must be a team player who is reliable and understands their dependability is important for the team’s success.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure humane handling and harvest of all animals run through the facility
- Enforce all safety practices
- Monitor and move hanging carcasses as they age
- Care for livestock
- Clean pens, alleyways, coolers and harvest floor
- Assure that all quality standards are followed
- Ensure great customer service at all times
- Perform other duties as assigned

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or GED certificate preferred
- One year of experience working on a harvest floor preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (standing for long periods of time, lifting heavy loads of up to 60 pounds, etc.)
- Good hand-eye coordination

Job Type: Full-time
Compensation: $12.00-$18.00 per hour, depending upon experience. Opportunity for a pay increase based on performance at 90 day evaluation. We believe in rewarding a job well done. Experience is preferred but not necessary. On the job training is provided.
