Custodian – St. George, Utah
The Custodian position at the Department of Workforce Services in St. George, Utah is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, sanitation, and overall appearance of the facility. This role includes performing daily cleaning duties as assigned by the supervisor and working both independently and as part of a team to ensure a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment.
Schedule & Pay:
- Monday through Friday
- Weekends off
- Holidays off (paid holidays included)
- One night shift cleaner: 4 hours per night
- Pay rate: $13 per hour
Strong and consistent communication with the supervisor is essential to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently and meet established standards. Reliability, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude are key to success in this role.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Perform regular inspections of assigned areas
- Follow all assigned duties and instructions provided by the supervisor
- Cross-train in different cleaning areas as needed
- Provide excellent customer service when required
- Report any broken equipment or maintenance issues to the supervisor

- Sweeping and mopping floors
- Dusting surfaces
- Cleaning and sanitizing restrooms
- Emptying trash and recycling bins
- Vacuuming carpets
- Disinfecting high-touch surfaces and points
- Cleaning glass doors and windows
- Cleaning and polishing drinking fountains
- Cleaning kitchens and break rooms
- Sweeping and mopping stairwells
- Wiping down handrails
- Cleaning and polishing elevators
- Keeping custodial closets clean, organized, and stocked
