Part-Time School Maintenance Worker
Green Brook Academy – Bound Brook, NJ
Green Brook Academy, a private special education school serving students in grades 6–12, is seeking a dependable, motivated, and self-directed Part-Time Maintenance Worker to join our team.
This position offers flexibility and may be scheduled as:
- Three full days per week, or
- Reduced hours, Monday through Friday
The schedule will be determined based on the needs of the school and the successful candidate.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform general building maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance.
- Maintain heating, air conditioning, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Complete staff maintenance requests in a timely manner.
- Open and secure school buildings as needed.
- Clean school buildings two days per week, including classrooms, offices, bathrooms, hallways, and common areas.
- Maintain the school property, including landscaping, lawn care, seasonal grounds maintenance, and general exterior upkeep.
- Perform snow and ice removal from sidewalks, entrances, walkways, and other designated areas of the property to maintain a safe environment.
- Coordinate and oversee outside contractors as needed.
- Maintain maintenance equipment and supply inventories.
- Assist with fire and safety inspections and facility compliance requirements.
- Inspect, clean, fuel, and perform routine maintenance on school vehicles.
- Pick up and deliver mail and approved supplies as needed.
- Assist with deliveries, event setup, and other school-related projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Administration.
Qualifications
- Experience in building maintenance, facilities, or a related field preferred.
- Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general repair.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Valid New Jersey driver's license with a good driving record.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Criminal History Background Check required.
