Job Summary

Duties
- Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs, recording medical histories, and ensuring comfort during visits
- Assist healthcare providers with procedures such as phlebotomy, medication administration, and basic life support techniques
- Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) accurately, including documentation of medical encounters, ICD coding, and medical records management
- Support medical administrative tasks such as appointment scheduling, patient intake, insurance verification, and maintaining medical documentation
- Conduct patient assessments related to physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and geriatrics to support tailored care plans
- Facilitate communication between patients and providers by explaining treatment procedures and answering questions professionally
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of clinical areas while adhering to infection control protocols in hospital or outpatient settings
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a medical office setting with knowledge of medical terminology and records management
- Hands-on experience with EMR/EHR systems and electronic health records management tools
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications such as phlebotomy or medication administration are a plus
- Familiarity with dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care environments, or Level I/II trauma center experience is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, ICD coding, and inpatient care procedures
- Excellent patient service skills with the ability to handle diverse populations including geriatrics and trauma patients
- Ability to multitask efficiently in fast-paced settings such as emergency rooms or hospital units
