Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated On-Call Day Porter to join our team. This role involves maintaining cleanliness and orderliness within commercial facilities through routine cleaning, sanitation, and light maintenance tasks. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all building occupants.
**THIS IS AN ON-CALL POSITION- 0-40 HOURS/WEEK**
THIS IS A FIRST SHIFT POSITION (6:00 AM - 2:30 PM)
Duties
- Perform general cleaning duties including cleaning restrooms, sweeping, mopping, dusting, and trash removal to uphold sanitation standards.
- Handle cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and other custodial tools safely and efficiently.
- Conduct floor care activities including buffing, stripping, waxing, and polishing to maintain high-quality flooring appearance.
- Manage chemical agents safely by adhering to handling safety procedures and proper storage protocols.
- Follow safety protocols diligently during heavy lifting or manual handling activities to prevent injuries.
- Support facilities maintenance efforts by ensuring cleanliness of common areas, restrooms, and entry points.
Requirements
- Must have flexible availability and be willing to work on-call hours based on operational needs. REQUIRED!
- Proven custodial or janitorial experience in commercial or industrial environments.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment operation (including floor buffers), and sanitation practices.
- Experience with chemical handling safety procedures and proper use of cleaning agents.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while following safe lifting practices.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients and staff.
- Familiarity with facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or painting is a plus.
- Demonstrated reliability, attention to detail, and adherence to safety protocols in all work activities.
