PURPOSE
The Accounting Supervisor - AP/AR serves as the front-line supervisor for AP/AR-related APSEA employees within the accounting department. This role is responsible for overseeing daily accounts payable and accounts receivable operations, coordinating financial reporting activities, and supporting department-wide accounting functions. The position provides leadership, guidance, and administrative oversight to accounting staff. This position requires a highly organized and versatile professional capable of exercising independent judgment, managing multiple priorities, and supporting a collaborative accounting environment.
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent business experience
EXPERIENCE
- 8–10 years of progressively responsible accounting and/or financial experience
- Minimum of 2–4 years of supervisory experience leading accounting or finance professionals
- Experience working with ERP systems, preferably Epicor ERP or similar accounting software platforms
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel to include advanced formulas and pivot tables

- Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and general accounting procedures
- Ability to exercise sound independent judgment and decision-making
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

DUTIES
- Supervise and provide day-to-day leadership for AP/AR-related APSEA accounting employees
- Oversee administrative duties and workflow management for AP/AR accounting staff
- Prepare and distribute monthly financial reporting to committee chairs and department directors
- Perform data entry functions including journal entries within the Epicor ERP system
- Scan and index accounting department documents in accordance with departmental procedures
- Review weekly AP/AR entries and oversee the monthly past-due letter process
- Complete monthly cash book reconciliations and identify applicable credit card transaction fees
- Track monthly capital expenditures to ensure proper accounting treatment and application
- Perform month-end journal entries and assist with monthly closing processes as needed
- Assist with bi-annual FAC audits and annual third-party fiscal year-end audits
- Support annual Department of Labor LM-2/3/4 regulatory reporting filings
- Provide cross-functional support to the Director of Accounting, Accounting Managers, and other accounting staff
- Coordinate and assist with vacation coverage across accounting department positions, including support for the Accounting Manager – AP/AR
- Prioritize workloads, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and resolve administrative issues independently
- Serve as a departmental resource and liaison between Accounting and other organizational departments and committees
