About the Role
Copperline's Area Foreperson plays a critical role in the successful execution of electrical installations on large-scale construction projects. Working under the direction of the Superintendent, this position leads assigned field personnel, promotes a safe and productive jobsite, and helps ensure work is completed with quality, efficiency, and craftsmanship.

Field Leadership
Lead assigned field personnel while promoting a safe, productive, and accountable work environment.
- Plan, organize, and direct the daily work of assigned field personnel in accordance with direction provided by the Superintendent.
- Lead, coach, and develop field employees while reinforcing company expectations for safety, quality, and productivity.
- Assign work based on project priorities established by the Superintendent and provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback.
- Foster teamwork, accountability, and professionalism by leading through example.
Project Execution
Lead the successful execution of electrical work within an assigned area of the project.
- Coordinate daily installation activities in accordance with project drawings, specifications, applicable codes, and direction from the Superintendent.
- Monitor workmanship and productivity while identifying field issues and communicating them to the Superintendent.
- Participate in project coordination meetings as requested and communicate jobsite updates affecting assigned work.
- Support field layout, installation planning, and quality control efforts as needed.
Material & Resource Management
Coordinate the resources necessary to keep work progressing efficiently.
- Coordinate manpower, material, tool, and equipment requests with the Superintendent and monitor deliveries to minimize project delays.
- Maintain accountability for company tools and equipment assigned to the work area.
- Help ensure assigned crews have the resources needed to perform their work safely and efficiently.
Communication & Project Documentation
Ensure accurate communication and documentation throughout project execution.
- Serve as the primary communication link between the Superintendent and assigned field personnel.
- Communicate project updates, drawing revisions, RFIs, and other information affecting assigned work.
- Assist with project documentation, production tracking, and employee timekeeping as required.
Safety & Quality
Promote a culture where safety and quality are integrated into daily operations.
- Lead by example in complying with Copperline's safety policies and all applicable OSHA, customer, and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor assigned work areas to ensure quality workmanship, safe work practices, and good housekeeping.
- Identify and promptly address safety concerns or quality issues, escalating them to the Superintendent when appropriate.
What You’ll Bring | Requirements
- Minimum six (6) years of experience in the commercial electrical construction trade, including at least three (3) years of experience serving as an Area Foreperson or comparable role
- Previous experience leading field crews on commercial electrical construction projects
- Strong working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and related project documentation
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Basic computer proficiency, including the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations related to layout, measurements, labor, and material needs
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- High School Diploma, GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
What You’ll Bring | Nice to Haves
- Completion of a registered electrical apprenticeship program
- Journeyman Electrician license (where applicable)
- Experience working in construction management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, Fieldwire, or other project-specific applications
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- OSHA 10-Hour or OSHA 30-Hour
Work Environment
This position primarily works on active commercial construction sites throughout Florida. Employees are regularly exposed to changing weather conditions, elevated work areas, moving equipment, energized systems, construction materials, dust, noise, and other conditions commonly associated with construction environments.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, and work in physically demanding environments for extended periods.
- Lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Work safely at heights, on ladders, in confined spaces, and on uneven terrain as project conditions require.
- Wear and properly utilize all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Possess the visual acuity, manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina necessary to safely perform electrical construction work.
Travel & Schedule
- You are responsible for maintaining reliable transportation to and from assigned project and other designated work locations as required.
- While Copperline makes reasonable efforts to assign employees to projects near their primary residence whenever possible, project assignments are based on business needs. Employees may be assigned to any project within their designated region, and project locations may vary throughout employment.
- Work schedules are based on project needs and may include overtime, evenings, weekends, or adjusted start and end times.
