Duties
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process customer transactions swiftly and securely
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions, assisting with product locations, and offering product demos when appropriate
- Handle cash, credit, and debit card payments with precision and confidence, ensuring proper cash handling procedures
- Upsell products and services to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales opportunities
- Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring products are well-presented
- Assist with inventory management through stocking, product rotation, and inventory counts
- Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when communicating with customers or vendors over the phone
Skills
- Proficiency with POS systems and cash handling procedures
- Supervising experience or leadership skills in a retail setting preferred
- Ability to perform retail math accurately for transactions and inventory counts
- Strong communication skills in both bilingual (if applicable) and clear verbal interactions
- Experience with merchandising, product demos, upselling, and grocery store operations is highly desirable
- Knowledge of basic math for quick calculations during transactions
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
- Ability to multitask effectively in a busy retail environment while maintaining attention to detail
