Advanced Procedures You'll Experience
As a Cath Lab RN, you'll care for patients undergoing:
- Diagnostic Cardiac Catheterizations
- PCI (Percutaneous Coronary Intervention)
- STEMI interventions
- Impella® & IABP-supported procedures
- Left Main PCI
- CTO procedures
- Intravascular Lithotripsy
- Rotational Atherectomy
- Laser Atherectomy
- PFO Closures
- Mechanical Thrombectomy
- Pulmonary Embolism Extraction using advanced technology

What You'll Do
As a Cath Lab RN, you'll provide comprehensive care before, during, and after cardiovascular procedures.
Pre-Procedure
- Complete patient assessments and review medical history
- Prepare patients for procedures
- Start and maintain IV access
- Administer prescribed medications
- Verify informed consent
- Educate patients and families
During Procedures
- Assist cardiologists during diagnostic and interventional procedures
- Monitor cardiac rhythm, hemodynamics, sedation, and vital signs
- Ensure equipment readiness and procedural safety
- Respond quickly to emergencies and complications
Post-Procedure
- Monitor patient recovery and vascular access sites
- Administer medications and evaluate patient status
- Provide discharge education
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to ensure excellent outcomes
General Responsibilities
- Deliver compassionate, patient-centered nursing care
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments
- Develop and implement individualized care plans
- Administer medications safely
- Document accurately within the electronic medical record
- Advocate for patient safety and quality outcomes
- Participate in emergency response and code situations
- Maintain infection prevention and regulatory compliance
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives
- Support patients and families through education and communication
Qualifications
Required
- Current RN license (State or Compact)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Preferred
- Previous Cath Lab experience
- ICU or Telemetry nursing experience
- Acute Care nursing experience
Experienced ICU and Telemetry nurses are encouraged to apply—we're willing to train the right candidate.
