Job Summary
This position is responsible for repairing and maintaining the hotel’s physical plant in accordance with Company standards for quality, cleanliness, guest satisfaction, and safety and security. We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Maintenance Technician to join our team and ensure the optimal operation of our hotel. In this role, you will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting systems, and executing repairs across a variety of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. Responsibilities
- Perform repairs: Address issues with plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC units, TV's, appliances, and other equipment to ensure they are functioning correctly.
- Conduct preventative maintenance: Regularly inspect and service systems and equipment to prevent future breakdowns.
- Pool and Spa Maintenance: Test and balance pool and spa water chemistry (pH, chlorine, alkalinity) daily to meet health codes. Clean pool surfaces, empty skimmer baskets, and vacuum pool floors. Inspect and maintain pool pumps, filters, heaters, and chemical feed systems. Maintain accurate logs of chemical readings and treatments.
- Respond to guest requests: Promptly and courteously handle maintenance requests from guests to resolve issues efficiently.
- General upkeep: Perform a variety of tasks, such as painting, minor carpentry, floor and carpet repairs, and ensuring the exterior and grounds are well-maintained.
- Ensure safety: Inspect and maintain safety equipment, like fire systems, and follow safety protocols to prevent accidents.
- Handle emergencies: Be on-call for urgent issues that may arise, such as power outages, water leaks, etc
- Assist with other duties: Help with special projects, renovations, or other tasks as assigned by management.

- Technical skills: Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Problem-solving: Ability to troubleshoot and fix a wide range of maintenance issues.
- Physical ability: Capable of performing physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy equipment.
- Communication: Good communication skills to interact with guests and management.
- Work ethic: A flexible schedule is often required, including the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays for on-call duties.
- Experience: Previous general maintenance experience, preferably in the hospitality industry required.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
Education & Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification preferred or required within 90 days.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematics.
- Knowledge of machines, computers, tools and other equipment, including HVAC, electrical and plumbing.
- Ability to communicate effectively with guests and staff.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
- Long hours sometimes required.
- Heavy work-Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
- Ability to stand during entire shift.
- Ability to reach overhead, utilize both hands, to bend over and to stoop and kneel.
- Ability to operate various types of maintenance equipment.
- Must be capable of climbing and descending stairs during their shift.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
