Manufacturing Engineer I (1st Shift)
Pay: $62,000 - $79,000 Annually DOE

We're seeking a Manufacturing Engineer I to support process development, fixture design, and continuous improvement within a precision sheet metal fabrication environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who wants hands-on involvement with production while managing projects from concept through implementation.
Position Summary
The Manufacturing Engineer I applies engineering knowledge to improve manufacturing processes, develop tooling solutions, and support production operations. This role is responsible for managing assigned projects, creating manufacturing documentation, and collaborating across departments to ensure quality, efficiency, and on-time delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage engineering projects involving brackets, simple weldments, and basic assemblies
- Develop manufacturing processes, routings, work instructions, and tooling requirements
- Perform Design for Manufacturability (DFM) reviews and provide recommendations
- Design fixtures and tooling using SolidWorks or similar CAD software
- Support production launches, first-article inspections, and process validation activities
- Maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs), engineering documentation, and ERP data
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities
- Collaborate with production, quality, planning, and programming teams to resolve manufacturing challenges
- Support capital equipment installations and process commissioning projects
- Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and engineering standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related engineering field
- 1-2 years of manufacturing engineering experience required
- Sheet metal fabrication experience preferred
- Proficiency with SolidWorks or similar CAD software
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T
- Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes including laser cutting, punching, and forming
- Ability to manage projects and meet deadlines with moderate supervision
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- ERP experience preferred
