Responsibilities
- Monitor and observe patients closely to assess their mental state, behavior, and safety needs using established patient observation protocols.
- Provide crisis intervention to de-escalate situations and ensure immediate safety for patients experiencing acute psychiatric episodes.
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed medical orders while maintaining detailed medication records.
- Document all patient interactions, observations, and interventions thoroughly within medical records, adhering to confidentiality standards.
Experience
- Prior experience working in psychiatric or behavioral health settings, including hospital or corrections facility medical clinics.
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to psychiatric care, medication administration, and patient monitoring.
- Hands-on experience with crisis intervention techniques and acute care procedures.
- Familiarity with medical records management and documentation standards within healthcare environments.
- Background in nursing or related healthcare fields is highly desirable.
