American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Critical Care Float Pool position requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and a GA or compact RN license, with night shift availability and flexibility to float throughout the hospital including the ED.

Hospital float pool position with the primary work location in the ER hold area

Float coverage required throughout the facility including the Emergency Department, within scope of practice

Night shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

Every other weekend required

No on-call responsibilities

No block schedule requests or alternate shift arrangements permitted

10-week contract

Active GA RN license or compact RN license required

Minimum 2 years of RN experience required

BLS certification required (copy must be provided for consideration)

Critical care nursing experience required

First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Local candidates are accepted

RTO is capped at 7 days; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment

If one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work all of them with no holiday RTO permitted; if three major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work two, with one holiday RTO request eligible for review

Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday (counts as 1), Christmas Eve/Christmas Day (counts as 1), and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day (counts as 1)

Travelers must have been away from all facilities within this health system for at least one full year before returning as a traveler

Two supervisory references (manager level or above; charge nurses not accepted) are highly preferred for consideration

Full compliance with onboarding requirements is expected prior to the start date; late compliance may result in a two-week start date delay due to a bi-weekly orientation schedule
