Horizon Healthcare Staffing currently has a need for a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to work one-to-one with a special needs student in school or during their transportation to and from school on the school bus.
Can we help provide a shorter commute for you? This position is in Elizabeth, NJ!
CURRENT OPENINGS for Nurses Include:
- Provide direct one on one nursing care in school for special needs students.
- Provide direct one on one nursing care on a school bus.
Schedule:
- 1:1 in-school: Monday's & Friday's only, 8:15AM - 3:05PM
- 1:1 on the bus: Monday - Friday, 7:10AM Pickup & 1:30PM Pickup
Assignment: 2026 School Year
Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one nursing care to students with special medical needs, including administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and addressing any health concerns or emergencies that may arise.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with parents, healthcare providers, and school personnel to meet the unique needs of each student.
- Communicate regularly with parents, teachers, and other healthcare professionals to provide updates on the student's health status and progress.
- Advocate for the student's health and educational needs within the school setting, ensuring that they have access to appropriate accommodations and support services.

You’ll be a perfect fit for this position if you:
- Have a passion for working with the pediatric population!
- Are interested in gaining an understanding of child growth and development!
- Have one year of professional experience as a Nurse.
- Have experience with tracheostomy care.
- Have experience with seizure precautions
- Possess an active CPR card.
- Possess an NJ Nursing License
- Must be willing to get your New Jersey Department of Education Fingerprints (We reimburse!)
