The Section Manager in Marukai Central Kitchen oversees the entire production process on their assigned section. This position has responsibilities including quality control, team management, training and development, equipment maintenance, process improvement, and safety and compliance.
Summary of the Position:
Section Manager is the ambassador of the new merchandise in the central kitchen, who leads the team to support the store promoting the merchandise a positive light, helping to increase the product awareness and sales.
Section Manager is the bridge between the department operations and central kitchen operations.
Section Manager is the role model who is the experts of merchandises knowledge, and trainer for the Associates.
Section Manager proactively leads the section to ensure achievement of business goals in revenues, expense, profitability,
customer satisfaction (Store's), inventory shrinkage, and employee morale.
Job Responsibilities:
- Keep the store clean and neat is the essential responsibility for all Marukai employees.
- Provide friendly and helpful customer service if you are encounter with customers in the store.
- Properly wear and use company provide Personal Protective Equipment such as uniform / vest, apron, mask, gloves, hat, hair net, and others.

Based on the assignment, you might need to handle Deli, Meat, Seafood, Bakery, Sushi, and or other perishable products.
- Based on the assignment, you need handle different tools and equipment such as slicer, scale, saw, knife, wrapper, grinder, and or other necessary items to cook and prep.

Work with Merchandise team and your Department Lead and collaborate with store operation team about store floor change.

Be responsible for department inventory level and deliveries, including order placement, receiving, returning, quality checking and invoice review.

Work closely with Section Manager & Department Leaders, design and present the work schedules for the team members.
- Be responsible for the department report including product movement total, sales performance, inventory, labor cost and others.
- Trian and develop team members for the knowledge of merchandise and operations.
- Follow supervisor’s instructions and company policy and procedures.

Multitask calmly and effectively under pressure.

Provide specific instructions for operations and staffing based on the operation plan (per work period). In addition, if necessary, prepare an operation plan and manage overtime and other work as needed, in cooperation with the section manager. (Obligation to report to supervisor).

Requirements:

Minimum 2 years of team member experience on the related positions, and at least 1-year direct team management and product management experience. Process center, factory, or Large grocery retail store experience will be plus.

Ability to work night shift from 9pm to 5:30am, including weekends.

Accreditation must be maintained while employed in a position in which it is required.
