Duties:
- Perform calibration, testing, and characterization of pulsed fiber laser systems during manufacturing.
- Measure and verify laser performance parameters, including output power, spectrum, pulse waveform, pulse duration, repetition rate, and beam quality.
- Troubleshoot laser systems, determine root causes of performance issues, and perform detailed technical analysis to support corrective actions.
- Perform optical fiber preparation, splicing, and fiber assembly following established manufacturing procedures.
- Assemble and integrate fiber-optic and electro-optical components into laser.
- Document calibration, test results, root cause investigations, and corrective actions in accordance with company procedures.
- Maintain test equipment and ensure compliance with all safety and quality requirements, including laser safety and ESD procedures.
- Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to improve product reliability, manufacturing processes, and test procedures.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing efficiency and product quality.
- Regular and reliable attendance and the ability to work overtime as needed are essential functions of this position.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or an Associate degree in photonics, optics, electronics, laser technology, or a related field preferred.
- Experience with optical fiber preparation, fiber splicing, and fiber-optic assembly.
- Experience operating laser test power, optical spectrum, pulse waveform, pulse duration and repetition rate.
- Demonstrated troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills in an optical or electronics manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, work instructions, and test procedures.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Self-motivated, dependable, and capable of independently performing extended calibration, testing, and technical investigations.
- Basic computer and data entry skills.
- Regular and reliable attendance and the ability to work overtime as needed are essential functions of this position.
