Duties
- Operate hand tools and power equipment such as trimmers, blowers, mowers, and excavators to perform landscape maintenance tasks efficiently and safely.
- Assist with mowing, edging, pruning, planting, watering, and fertilizing to promote healthy plant growth and landscape aesthetics.
- Support irrigation system installation, repair, and maintenance to ensure proper watering of lawns and gardens.
- Conduct landscape cleanup activities including debris removal, leaf blowing, snow plowing during winter months, and hardscape maintenance.
- Identify various plants, trees, and shrubs to assist with plant health assessments and pest management strategies.
- Follow safety protocols diligently while handling equipment and chemicals such as pesticides; maintain a safe work environment at all times.
- Support tree care activities including trimming, planting, and removal to enhance safety and landscape beauty.
- Assist with grounds maintenance tasks such as ground leveling, soil preparation, and installing mulch or gravel pathways.
Experience
- Prior outdoor work experience or familiarity with landscaping activities is preferred but not required; we value enthusiasm for outdoor environments!
- Basic mechanical knowledge or experience operating grounds maintenance equipment is advantageous.
- Knowledge of horticulture principles including plant identification and pest management practices is a plus.
- Experience with irrigation systems installation or repair enhances your ability to contribute effectively.
- Ability to operate power tools safely and efficiently is essential for success in this role.
- Comfortable working in various weather conditions with outdoor work requiring physical stamina and attention to detail.
