Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled PrePress Platemaker to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for preparing printing plates that ensure high-quality output across various print projects. Duties
- Operate large-format printers, digital printing equipment, and prepress machinery to produce high-quality printing plates.
- Interpret production documents accurately to ensure correct plate specifications and color fidelity.
- Use graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite to modify layouts, adjust typography, and prepare files for printing.
- Manage color calibration and color management processes to maintain consistent color output across projects.
- Perform routine mechanical adjustments and maintenance on printing and platemaking equipment to optimize performance.
- Cut, bind, and prepare printed materials for final production or further processing stages like screen printing or flexo press operations.
- Conduct quality control checks on plates for defects, accuracy, and adherence to client specifications before proceeding to print runs.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of prepress software applications including Adobe Creative Suite and other graphic design tools.
- Proficiency in color management techniques to ensure vibrant and accurate color reproduction.
- Mechanical aptitude with experience operating large-format printers, industrial equipment, and press machinery.
- Familiarity with print production processes such as layout design, typography, cutting, binding, and manufacturing workflows.
- Ability to interpret complex production documents and technical specifications accurately.
- Experience with digital printing technology, flexo press setup, and screen printing processes is highly desirable.
- Excellent attention to detail combined with strong organizational skills for managing multiple projects simultaneously.
