Job Summary:
The Clinical Resource Coordinator is a Registered Nurse responsible for the coordination of neonatal education, professional development, and clinical training for staff within the designated perinatal region. This role collaborates closely with the Clinical Administrator, Director, and Clinical Nurse Leaders to deliver outreach education through individual and group programming, including in-services, workshops, and the development of educational materials. The coordinator provides hands-on training, evaluates competency, and delivers direct clinical care as needed. The role functions both independently and collaboratively with interdisciplinary healthcare providers and is responsible for coordinating area-specific quality processes.
This position requires regional travel and serves as an ambassador for Erlanger Health's neonatal services in alignment with State Perinatal Guidelines. Responsibilities include ongoing communication with transferring facilities, development of collaborative relationships, and coordination and communication of educational offerings across the region. The coordinator maintains NRP and STABLE instructor status to support requested educational programs and collaborates with Life Force and Ground Transport providers to ensure continuity of care and education.
The Clinical Resource Coordinator is also responsible for supporting and implementing new initiatives established by the TIPQC.
Education:
Required:
Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
Bachelors' of Science Degree in Nursing (exception with CNO approval)
Preferred:
Master's Degree
Experience:
Required:
Three years' clinical experience
Preferred:
Five years' department specific highly recommended.
Three years' prior experience as an educator
Position Requirement(s): License/Certification/Registration
Required:
Current licensure to practice nursing in the State of Tennessee,
BLS completed prior to going to unit/department and maintained going forward.
Provider/Instructor: ACLS, BLS
The Nurse Licensure Compact will not change how to obtain or renew a Tennessee license. However, the Tennessee nursing license will be a single state license for Tennessee Residents or non-compact state residents. Tennessee licensure or multistate licensure from a compact state must be obtained within three months of hire for non-Tennessee residents.

Department Position Summary:
The Clinical Resource Coordinator is a Registered Nurse responsible for the overall education, development, and training of clinical staff through collaboration with the Clinical Administrator, Director, and Clinical Nurse Leaders.
The role may also include direct and indirect patient care. This may require scheduled shifts within the department as requested
The scope of this position includes assisting with the orientation program, development and coordination of the annual credentialing process, assisting in education and evaluation of new products. This position is also responsible for designing and implementing in-services and educational programs for Erlanger staff and other health care providers.
The Coordinator is responsible for evaluating staff competency, in collaboration with Department leadership, to ensure staff members have the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. The Coordinator must also be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills needed to provide education to adult learners
The Clinical Resource Coordinator must be able to interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her population-specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in the unit's policies and procedures.
In addition, this position responsibility will also include regional education regarding neonatal care. This position will be expected to travel within the region as an ambassador for the neonatal services specifically in regard to neonatal transport. This position requires follow up communication with all transferring facilities and developing a relationship. Implement the quality program for the transport team to include feedback to referring facilities and development of education programs as necessary. Provide and/or inform educational offering that can be provided at their facility and within the region. Maintain instructor level status so that educational offering can be provided as requested and arranged. Work with and maintain communication with Life Force and Ground Transport providers.
The Clinical Resource Coordinator will also be responsible for any new initiatives implemented by the TIPQC.
