ReStore Associate & Office Assistant

Position Summary
Bennington County Habitat for Humanity is seeking a mission‑driven ReStore Associate & Office Assistant to support the daily operations of the ReStore while providing part‑time administrative support to the Executive Director. The ideal candidate is organized, personable, and comfortable balancing hands-on retail work with essential office tasks.
This full‑time role is primarily based at the ReStore (3–4 days/week, including Saturdays), with 1–2 days/week in the administrative office. Flexibility is essential, as weekly time allocation may shift based on volunteer coverage and operational needs.
Key Responsibilities
ReStore Operations (Primary Role: 3–4 days/week, including Saturdays)
- Support daily store operations; serve as lead in the Manager’s absence.
- Provide strong customer service and maintain a welcoming environment.
- Assist with store layout, merchandising, pricing, and product flow.
- Drive the box truck for donation pick-ups as needed.
- Recruit, train, and support volunteers with the ReStore Manager and Community Engagement Manager.
- Oversee donation intake and assess item quality.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe store and warehouse.
- Enforce ReStore policies and resolve customer concerns.
- Support marketing efforts, including social media and in-store promotions
- Weekly scheduling may vary based on volunteer coverage.
Administrative & Office Operations (1–2 days/week)
- Greet visitors and respond to inquiries professionally.
- Provide administrative support to the Executive Director and program staff.
- Maintain organized physical and digital office systems; uphold confidentiality.
- Manage and digitize homeowner files.
- Assist with data entry, document management, and recordkeeping.
- Support budget tracking and invoice coding.
- Help coordinate donor meetings, especially with longstanding donors.
- Assist with events, home dedications, and outreach activities.
Qualifications
- Demonstrate commitment to Habitat for Humanity’s mission and values.
- Integrity, credibility, and ability to work respectfully with diverse individuals.
- Minimum one year of experience in administrative support or customer service preferred.
- Ability to drive a box truck or the willingness to learn.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace or Microsoft Office.
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Familiarity with social media platforms and content creation.
- Ability to provide direction to volunteers.
- Retail merchandising or décor/design experience preferred.
Physical & Work Requirements
- Comfortable driving a box truck.
- Ability to work at a computer for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and move items up to 50 lbs., sometimes in inclement weather.
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
- Comfort working in both office and warehouse/store environments.
Compensation
- $16-18/hour depending on experience
- Paid Health Insurance for employee
- Paid time off: 2 weeks vacation, 12 days personal time, and 8 holidays
- Simple IRA with 2% employer match
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
