Responsibilities
- Respond rapidly to emergency calls, providing essential pre-hospital medical care to patients of all ages.
- Perform thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations.
- Manage airways effectively through airway management techniques and assist with oxygen therapy as needed.
- Administer medications and injections following established protocols to stabilize patients during transport.
- Operate emergency vehicles safely, demonstrating proficient driving skills and heavy lifting capabilities for equipment and patients.
- Maintain clear documentation of patient care reports, vital signs, and incident details accurately and promptly.
- Collaborate with hospital staff during patient handoffs, providing detailed triage information and critical care insights.
Skills
- Proven EMT experience with a solid understanding of emergency medicine procedures and protocols.
- Critical care experience within hospital or Level I/II trauma centers, including trauma assessment and critical care transport.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and aseptic techniques essential for patient care.
- Skilled in airway management, venipuncture, medication administration, and injection techniques.
- Experience with patient triage, urgent care procedures, and emergency room operations.
- Ability to perform physical examinations confidently while maintaining patient safety and comfort.
- Excellent driving skills combined with the ability to lift heavy loads safely; familiarity with DME (Durable Medical Equipment) is a plus.
