Phoenix Flavors & Fragrances is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Sample Lab Compounder to join our Fragrance Division in Norwood, NJ. This position plays a critical role in supporting our Perfumery and Sales teams by accurately compounding fragrance oils and preparing customer samples and applications.

Compound fragrance formulations by weighing, measuring, and blending raw materials according to approved formulas.

Read and interpret batch tickets and formulation instructions with a high degree of accuracy.

Prepare fragrance applications, including candles, lotions, and other customer-specific bases.

Maintain retains and documentation for all samples produced.

Complete required transactions in laboratory and inventory management systems.

Monitor product quality and identify potential issues, including color variation or formula fallout.

Maintain appropriate inventory levels of raw materials within the laboratory.

Follow all laboratory safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.

Collaborate with Perfumers, Sales, and Laboratory personnel to support customer projects and deadlines.

Assist with additional laboratory functions and special projects as needed.

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related field preferred.

Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Fragrance or Flavor Laboratory environment.

Strong mathematical aptitude and attention to detail.

Ability to accurately measure, weigh, and compound ingredients.

Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Ability to work independently while meeting productivity and quality expectations.

Proficiency with computer-based systems and laboratory software.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Ability to stand for extended periods of time.

Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and perform repetitive hand movements.

Ability to occasionally lift and move up to 25 pounds.

Ability to safely work around fragrance chemicals and raw materials while wearing required personal protective equipment.
